MARKETEERS from about six markets in Ndola’s Kabushi Constituency have received K300,000 revolving funds to boost their businesses.

The empowerment has come at a time when the constituency is earmarked to benefit from the construction of Kapalala market which was gutted three years ago.Kabushi Members of Parliament Bowman Lusambo said the government cared about the welfare of marketeers across the country, hence its commitment to promote socio-economic equality among the informal sectors such as marketeers and taxi drivers.

Mr Lusambo said the head of state knows the values of your impact and that is why he had always delivered the support.

“I however demand for a systematic way of administering funds in order to ensure there is proper usage of resources. All those who will be given the responsibility to oversee the program to be transparent and instill confidence in the head of state who has shown the desire to empower them,” he said.

Mr Lusambo further appreciated the role marketeers played in the country’s socio-economic development and bought various products as a way of promoting their businesses.

He also assured taxi drivers that the head  of  state would empower  them through various incentives such as facilitation  of rivers
