THE Teqball Federation of Zambia President Dickson Jere has disclosed that his sports body has been ranked ninth best per-forming in Africa barely 11 months after its formation.

Jere said the ranking was released at the just-ended General Assembly of the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) over the weekend which was virtually attended by over 150 countries. He said Zambia beat other countries that have been in existence for a long time.
“It was good news for Zambia as we were ranked the 9th best performing Federation. We are less than a year and that ranking shows potential and we therefore aim to be among the best 3 by next year,” Jere said.
Jere, who represented Zambia at the General Assembly, said Teqball has become the fastest growing sport in the world and it is the hope of the Teqball family that the sport will be part of the Olympics soon.
“Africa has shown tremendous developments in Teqball. What was shocking is that the best performing Federation in Africa is from Dji-bouti,” Jere said, adding that smaller nations are becoming increasingly bigger in sports.
He said Zambia will become a force to reckon with once the league is fully developed and operationalized by next year across the country.
