Stealing a goat earns man jail term

A 23 years old barman who stole a Goat to raise capital for his business will toil for 6 months in confinement for his criminal act.

Job Kampunga was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment with hard labour for Stock Theft by the Choma Magistrates Court.
Particulars of the offence are that Kampunga on November 23 stole one Goat valued at K350 the property of Abel Mudenda.
When he appeared for plea before Magistrate Muyambango Munukayumbwa, the accused person admitted to taking the Goat with intent of depriving the owner permanently.
Kampunga in admitting the charge told the Court that he wanted to sell the loot in order to raise capital for his dwindling business.
