…as Zesco United score first home win, Dynamos draw Lumwana

GREEN Eagles edged bottom-placed Kitwe United 1 – 0 on Saturday afternoon in Choma to maintain top spot while Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba scored a brace to give Numba Mumamba his first home win at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on ‘free-kick goals’ filled afternoon.
At Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba was the man of the day on Saturday as he netted twice to guide Zesco United to a 2-0 win over Kabwe Warriors handing Numba Mumamba his first home and coincidentally on the day the fans returned to the Stadium.
Aggrey Chiyangi and his Kawale Boys have maintained their place at the summit of the log table after they labored to a 1-0 win over bottom-placed Kitwe United in Choma. Striker Anos Tembo scored the only goal of the game, his third of the season.
At Sunset Stadium, Felix Nyaende scored a late goal to rescue a point for Lumwana Radiants who played to a 1-1 draw with Lusaka Dynamos. Ocean Mushure put Elite in the lead from a free-kick.
Lusaka Dynamos took the lead in the 77th minute through a Mushure free kick after Alan Ngeleka failed to Judge the flight of the ball. It was not too long before the Uranium Boys hit back through a power header by Felix Nyeande.
Nkwazi and Green Buffaloes played out to a goalless draw. This afternoon the action continues as it moves to Nkana Stadium where the defending Champions welcome Sensational Zanaco in the highlight match of the weekend.
Kemuka put the eight-time Zambia Super League Champions in the lead in the 66th minute with a brilliant free-kick before sealing the result in additional time with a powerful shot. Kabwe Warriors were denied a clear penalty in the match after Jimmy Ndhlovu’s shot was stopped by a Clement Mwape hand.
In the early kick-off, Indeni were 1-0 winners over Prison Leopards thanks to a Graven Chitalu first-half strike.
At Nkoloma Stadium, Lameck Kafwaya scored a beautiful free-kick to guide Power Dynamos to a 1-0 win over ten-man Red Arrows. Paul Katema was given marching orders in the second half to reduce the Airmen to ten men.
Lusaka Dynamos took the lead in the 77th minute through an Ocean Mushure free kick after Alan Ngeleka failed to Judge the flight of the ball.
It was not too long before we hit back through a power Header by Felix Nyaende who took advantage of poor defending by Lusaka Dynamos after the ball was left hanging in the air.
