NATIONAL team coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has announced a provisional 26-man team list ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON) qualifiers against Botswana to be played at home on Thursday 12 November with the return match on 16 November.
According to a post on the Football Association of Zambia Facebook page, Micho will be tapping into the skills of Red Bull Salzburg star Enock Mwepu as well as the likes of Fashion Sakala, Gampani Lungu and Evans Kangwa.
The squad which comprises mostly players who featured during the preparatory fixtures against Malawi, South Africa and Ethiopia.
Mwepu’s team mate at Salzburg Patson Daka has not made the cut as he is still nursing a hamstring injury he picked when Red Bull Salzburg played Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid in one of the Champions league fixtures.
Meanwhile, the Tanzanian duo of Cletus Chama and Obrey Chirwa who were dropped during last month’s friendlies for allegedly missing two flights have also been left while the former Orlando Pirates duo of Justin Shonga and Augustin Mulenga have made it back into the Chipolopolo squad.
