Boxing Federation brain storm

MATHEWS NDANDULA writes @SunZambian
THE Zambia Boxing Federation technical committee is expected to meet in Kabwe today to draw a roadmap of trainings
for the Toky 2020 Olympics bound three boxers as well as next year‘s activities of the federation.

Steven Zimba from Green Buffaloes, Evaristo Mulenga from Zambia National Service and Patrick Chinyemba from Exodus
Boxing Academy are the pugilists that will fly the Zambian punches in Japan next year.
Federation general secretary Brighton Chomba confirmed an interview that a 10 man technical committee will deliberate various
issues and then present budget and technical submissions to the mother body.
“This meeting will focus on planning for our boxers who will represent the nation at the Tokyo Olympic games next year, the
second issue to be discussed is about our boxing calendar ahead of 2021.
We need to plan now, so that later we submit out budget and programme to the National Olympic Committee of Zambia, the
government as well as other stakeholders so that they help us, as a boxing federation, in implementing the resolution of the
meeting,” he said.
The meeting will see participants converge in Kabwe from various parts of the country.
“We have called almost all the key persons as coaches to represent their clubs starting from Mazabuka up to Chililabombwe
that’s why we picked Kabwe because we looked at it as a central location.”
“You know we are in Covid-19 era so we expect those who will attend the meeting to adhere to the health guidelines,” Chomba
said.
