Kasama flood victims farmers to receive stock feed

Kasama Central Member of Parliament, Kelvin Sampa has secured 5,000 by 90 kilogram bags of stock feed for livestock farmers in his constituency who were affected by floods in the last farming season.

Mr. Sampa who is also Patriotic Front Member (PF) National Youth Chairperson said the stock feed has been sourced from the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit – DMMU.

ZANIS reports that the law maker said he has since engaged the local leadership to help in identifying the affected livestock farmers.

Mr. Sampa noted that the livestock sector has potential to contribute to food and nutrition security as well as poverty reduction in his constituency hence his move to engage DMMU.

Mr. Sampa has since thanked DMMU for the gesture.
