2 suspects in reservist’s murder fished out of hiding

NOEL IYOMBWA writes

BARELY a week after a reservist police officer of Ngwerere police station Nathan Mhango was brutally murdered, two suspects have been arrested after they went into hiding in Kafue.

According to information gathered, one of the suspects went to hide at his sister’s place in Kafue.

A source has explained that the two have admitted killing Mhangobecause they wanted to steal his vehicle.

But after stealing the vehicle, the suspects abandoned the vehicle in Kabwe and sold the car battery and other parts.

And Lusaka province police commissioner Nelson Phiri confirmed the arrest of the two suspects.

Mr. Phiri however could not disclose the names of the suspects adding that he will only disclose the names after formally charging the two.

The commissioner of police said that the two suspects were arrested in Kafue district.

He also said that the two who are residents of Chunga’s government area are in police custody.
