A GRADE Nine juvenile of a named school in Kafue will spend 12months in prison for trafficking in 5.1 grams of cannabis and 85 sachets of heroine with lawful authority.
Appearing at the Kafue Magistrate Court before Kawama Mwamfuli was Watson Kabuye accused of trafficking 5.1 grammes of cannabis and 85 sachets of heroin on January 28.
Particulars of the offence was that, the investigation officers found drugs with Kabuye of Kafue on January 28.
He admitted the two counts of offence and was found guilty. He therefore pleaded for forgiveness from court that he is only a Grade Nine pupil and if jailed his future will be at stake for a longtime.
Magistrate Mwamfuli said the abuse of drugs is of great concern and deserved to be punished so that others would learn that the abuse of drugs is a serious offence.
The court jailed Kabuye 12 months imprisonment with hard labour on two accounts.
