ZAMBIA’s Market Hub officially launched its electronic commerce platform that will link many buyers and vendors in the business world across the globe.
Zampost Express Mail Service (EMS), Times Courier in collaboration with The Market Hub (TMH) launched their first open market electronic commerce platform.
According to its promoter the e-market will involve the modern-day link of the buyer and the seller in wide ranging businesses boosted by the fast growing internet of the world today
David Kaunda who is the chief executive officer (CEO) said at the official launch of the TMH the online platform would serve people from all walks of life.
Everyone would access the platform provided the individual had a smart phone and internet connectivity.
“TMH was built from a proposition of the trusted online, which also makes it an online platform. Our mission is to link the buyer and seller using online technology,” Mr Kaunda said.
He said e-commerce in itself consisted of the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the internet or computer networks.
“The e-commerce board is registered in the laws of Zambia. So we don’t just appear in the end; we are real and we have everything.
“Internet has changed everything. It is a hub. What it has done is that it has made us all access information despite the different walks of life. It is basically an online story and most people now use internet,” Mr Kaunda said.
He said the hub would be a 24-hour service that would cost the vendor nothing and only cost the buyer K40 as delivery cost when sending parcels within the country and use K50 for international services.
“It will also give the door-to-door service as per address of the consumer,” Mr Kaunda said.
