ZAMBIA needs to introduce Government sponsored programmes to boost the aviation industry, says one of Proflight Zambia pilots Captain Preller Kopolo.

Capt Kopolo said much as Proflight Zambia was currently leading in training the next generation of aviators in Zambia, more efforts were needed to up the game.

“One of the things I love is the company’s consistency in its vision and plan. Currently it’s the leading company in training and grooming the next generation of aviators in Zambia,

“Since our group graduated in the 1980s, there has been no government programme sponsoring aviation,” Capt Kopolo said in a statement.

Capt Kopolo encouraged young people aspiring to be pilots to be disciplined, focused and healthy.

He said the company would continue to assist young people interested in venturing into aviation industry.

“With the few young people who have come through, I have been able to impart my knowledge and experience to them. I encourage the youngsters hoping to secure their career, as I did during my teenage days, to be disciplined, focused and healthy,

“Because I listened, learned, and focused 40 years past, I have achieved great milestones and flown far in my career,” Capt Kopolo said.

Capt Kopolo said the new Johannesburg- Ndola route which would begin on September 2, would link the Copperbelt to South Africa’s main business centre.
