2 PERISH IN ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

TWO people died in a road traffic accident which occurred on Tuesday on Mansa-Chembe Road, says acting police spokesperson Danny Mwale.

Mr Mwale identified the dead as Chadika Mbena, 39, a Congolese and Chola Nkandu, 38 of Chembe who were hit by a Mercedes Benz Truck registration number ACM 2231.

In a statement, Mr Mwale said the truck which hit the two was being driven by Kennedy Chizela, 41.

“The two identified as Chadika Mbena aged 39, a Congolese national and Chola Nkandu, aged 38, of Chembe District in Luapula Province were hit by a Mercedes Benz Truck registration number ACM 2231, which was being driven by Kennedy Chizela,” Mr Mwale said.

Mr Mwale said the driver was currently detained in police custody, while the bodies of the victims were deposited at Mansa General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
