TERENCE MISELO Writes
Musician Jonto whose new single ‘ Referee’ is enjoying airplay last Saturday charmed guests at Kayo Lodge in Lusaka when he gave a surprise performance during music promoter Kelvin Kampamba aka Boss Kelo’s birthday bash.
The artiste who is among the many young pioneers of modern-day Zambian music took the moment to share songs from his early days.
Popular amongst the songs he gave out was ‘ Do you ever miss me’ and ‘ I knew you were mine.’ Jonto also sampled some choruses from his latest projects. Also present at the event was artiste Tu K and music producer Raydo.
Raydo gave a thank you speech on behalf of all the artistes that work with Boss Kelo. Others who spoke at the occasion also included XYZ Music Manager H-Mark and Boss Kelo’s family representative.
Meanwhile, Kelo has pledged to continue supporting Zambian music which he said has the potential to create jobs as many young people are involved in it. He said apart from supporting music, his company Kayton Logistics is fully involved in charity and works with the likes of SlapDee to help the needy.
