5 MOZAMBICANS NABBED WITH 40 STOLEN MOBILE PHONES

POLICE in Mambwe district in Eastern Province have arrested fine Mozambicans after they were found with over 40 mobiles phones suspected to have been stolen

Eastern Province police commissioner Luckson Sakala said the were believed to have stolen the phones during the just ended Malaila traditional ceremony of the Kunda speaking people.

“The five from Tete district of Mozambique were arrested after a search by officers from the department National Parks and Wildlife at Mphomwa check point,” said Mr. Sakala.

He however said the recovered mobile phones would be returned to owners after they were traced.

Meanwhile, the police commissioner has appealed to members of public to be cautious when attending public gatherings such as traditional ceremonies because thieves were also busy at the same time
