Zambian Afropop singer and instrumentalist Mathew Tembo launches his eighth studio album next month in Lusaka.
The artiste who usually juggles between USA and Zambia calls his latest album ‘Konkha’ and it will be launched on August 17 at #Social in Lusaka.
This launch will feature a special album sampling as Mathew will be with his ‘Dark Black Band’. Most Zambian fans will therefore associate this album and Mathew’s music from the TV Soap ‘Mpali’ where most of his songs are used as soundtracks.
For this reason, Mathew’s launch will feature cast members from ‘Mpali’ that will include the man of the moment ‘Mr Nguzu’ and all his wives from the soap.
Fellow artistes Mumba Yachi, Teresa Ng’ambi, Milz, Batto and others will also join him for this prestigious night of authentic music and rich culture.
For a long time, Mathew Tembo has created a unique way of producing music using some of the indigenous African instruments and percussions to promote Africanism. His songs are mostly done in his mother-tongue language ‘Chewa’ and he also works hard to widen his lingua.
He is one of Zambia’s biggest music exports to Europe and America who conducts various workshops and music clinics to promote the African instruments which will be a prominent feature at the launch next month.
