A MAN of Chilanga who defiled his 13-year-old step-daughter has lost his marriage of eight years in the Boma Local Court.

Modester Luundu told Senior Local Court Magistrate Linda Tembo that she married Misheck Mwanza in 2011 and have 8 year old twins.

“But Mwanza defiled my 13 year old girl who is his stepdaughter. I caught him red-handed in our matrimonial bedroom. I now want divorce,” Luundu said.

She later Mwanza was locked in police cells for a week and when he was bailed out, he ran away from home and stopped supporting the family.

She said her husband was taken to Mukobeko Maximum Prison in Kabwe where he will be serving a 20-year sentence.

Mwanza then told the court that he was surprised that his wife had brought him to court for divorce.

He said since his wife wanted to go ahead with the divorce, her wish should be granted.

The court found that the two were separated by Mwanza being in prison for defiling his step daughter.

Divorce was granted and the custody of the twins was given to the mother.

Magistrate Tembo also ordered Mwanza to pay Luundu K300 monthly spousal maintenance for three years and to ensure his relatives helped him cater for all school necessities of his children and settle medical bills in the event that they fell sick.
