President Lungu encourages Christianity

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has encouraged the Church to foster Christianity in the political arena.
President Lungu notes that strengthening and enhancing Christianity among political players will help sanitise politics in the country.
“We need Christians in the political arena to help sanitise politics,” the President said.
The Head of State made these remarks when he met members of the Baptist Church from Masaiti District on the Copperbelt Province, at State House yesterday.
And speaking on behalf of the Baptist Church leaders, Pastor Ricky Katontoka commended the President for rendering help to the Church in Masaiti district, which includes youth empowerment.
“I have seen the youth in the district being empowered by your government, we are very grateful,” Pastor Katontoka said.
The Church leaders were accompanied to State House by Masaiti Member of Parliament Michael Katambo.
This is according to a statement made available to ZANIS by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations, Isaac Chipampe.
