Farmers in Choma District have continued to be the target of Cattle Rustlers in the province with the Courts receiving at least a case every week.

Barely a week has passed when a man was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment with hard labour for stealing 4 herds of Cattle belonging to Ross Farms.
This time another man has appeared in the Choma Magistrates Court accused of stealing a Cow from a Peasant Farmer.
In this matter Comment Siachija has been arraigned to the Choma Magistrates Court charged with Stock Theft contrary to sections 272 and 275 of Chapter 87 of the Penal Code of the Laws of Zambia.
Allegations are that Siachija jointly and whilst acting together with a Moono stole one Cow valued at K5000 the property of Chike Mwiinga.
The alleged theft is said to have occurred on July 8 in Choma district.
When he appeared for plea before Magistrate Muyambango Munukayumbwa, the accused person vehemently denied the allegations levelled against him compelling the Court to record a plea of not guilty.
The matter was adjourned to November 18 for trial after Public Prosecutor Coillard Sikwalulwa applied for an adjournment so the State could prepare its witnesses.
The accused person was remanded in custody.
