Gadgets theft lands 2 in court

TWO unemployed men are appearing in the Choma Subordinates Court for snatching electronic gadgets from a Motor Vehicle.

In this matter Jana Phiri, 28, and Martin Mwaanga , 29, stand jointly charged with the offence of Theft from a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Laws of Zambia.
Allegations are that the two jointly and whilst acting together stole 1 Convertor and 6 convertor cables from an Iveco Ford Registration Number AJE 554 all valued at K1,810 the property of Trosten Sebebe.
The alleged incident happened on September 14 in Choma district of Southern Provinces.
When the two appeared for plea before Resident Magistrate Ethel Phiri, they vehemently denied the allegations levelled against them com-pelling the Court to enter a plea of not guilty.
The matter was adjourned to a later date for trial after Public Prosecutor Catherine Sakala applied for an adjournment.
The two accused persons were remanded in custody.
