A 41 year old man of Sinkoli village in Chief Mapanza in Choma District has run away after axing his 41 year old wife to dead after a domestic dispute.
Police public relations officer, Esther Katongo who confirmed the incident has identified the suspect as Wezzy Miyoba.
Ms Katongo told the Daily Nation in a statement that Police in Choma of Southern Province were looking for Miyoba in connection with the murder of his wife Harriet Singwama aged 41 of Sinkoli village in Chief Mapanza.
She said the incident occurred on Saturday, September, 19 between 19:20 hours and 19:30 hours at Sinkoli village after a marital dispute..
Ms Katongo said the victim sustained a deep cut on the right side of the head near the ear as an axe was alleged to have been used in the act.
She said a manhunt had been launched for the suspect.
Ms Katongo appealed to members of the public with information on the whereabouts of the suspect to report to any nearest police.
She has also advised couples to always settle for amicable ways of sorting out their differences and avoid violence at all costs.
