Transporter fined K2,500 for fake blue book

MULENGA MUSONDA writes

THE Choma Magistrates Court has fined a transporter over K2,500 for unlawfully possessing a forged motor vehicle blue book.

But Mulenga insists that women were indeed sneaked into the team and that there was no security mandated to stop players from doing so.

Particulars of the offence are that Moonze without lawful cause or excuse used a Motor Vehicle purporting that it was for a Hilux with Registration Number ABA 6560 when in fact not.

When he appeared for plea before Court, Moonze admitted the charge levelled against him and asked for forgiveness.

Court: Have you understood the charge read to you?

Moonze: I have understood.

Court: Do you admit or deny?

Moonze: I admit.

Court: Did you use an imitated document?

Moonze: Yes

Court: Did you have lawful authority?

Moonze: No, but I thought the book issued to me by a RTSA Agent was okay.

Court:So i will record a plea of not guilty.

Moonze:No am not denying.

Court: You are justifying and shifting the blame on the Agent.

Moonze: Am sorry, please forgive me, I knew the book was forged.

Court: I record a plea of guilty.

After pleading guilty, Moonze admitted that the Facts that were presented before Court were a true reflection of what happened.

In passing the sentence Magistrate Mupemo considered the Fact that he was a first offender who was remorseful and pleaded guilty.

She thus fined him K1,500 and K1,200 as compensation for the expenses incurred by the Agency and in default he will serve 9 months in jail with hard labour.
