The hip hop culture in Zambia is becoming widely and rapidly accepted. To this effect, anything hip hop and in line with its lifestyle is finding its way into the country to prove there are several followers.
On April 27th at the Fox and Hound-Foxdale in Lusaka, the nation witnesses the first ever Kicks Exchange starting at 14:00 hours till late.
The Kicks Exchange is an event that brings together shoe lovers mainly sneakers, to interact and trade in shoes. This event is characterized by various hip-hop activities including music performances. The activity is practiced in many countries and for Zambia, this is the first and probably the biggest to happen.
Artistes lined up to perform include B Mak , Tonny Breezy, King Illest, Chanda Mbao, Trippy Hippy, Name is Martian, Scott and many more
“Come and buy original sneakers from retailers such as IZU Stores, Swagg Daddy, Solo Fashions and many more. Bring your kick if you want to make a trade or customize sneakers with Kasie Arts. Come purchase T-Shirts from local brands such as Saka, Zed Since 1964, VovalaZambia and many more,” urges organisers of the event which will also attract music performances by the Nuwayv of Zed Hip hop.
“A special exhibition on wearable art by Tibeka of Zambia Ultra Gallery will be held at the event and ZedHipHop albums will be on sale. People are also asked to donate old pairs of shoes to the less fortunate as they attend the event,” emphasized the organisers of the show that has received sponsored from Power FM Radio.
