FILMMAKER and renowned Zambian actress Cassie Kwabwita’s film ‘Kwacha’ has been selected as one of the productions to be screened at the Sinema Zatu International Film Festival (SZIFF) being held in Tanzania.
The festival which started on of January 1 and running till February 22, 2019 portrays both world cinema and Swahili panorama to a wide range of film lovers and audience.
According to the screening schedule, Kwacha is the only Zambian film selected among several productions across Africa which will be shown on January 20 and directed by Maynard Munchangwe.
Ms Kabwita says she is greatly humbled at the performance of ‘ Kwacha’ which was produced in 2017 featuring cast from Zambia and Tanzania and performed in English and Swahili.
The 111 minute-long film is centered on gender based violence (GBV) and also highlights various aspects of domestic violence.
