DEVELOPMENT Activist Barnabas Zulu has urged the government to make the business environment more favourable for small and medium enterprises in 2023 by dealing with factors that are affecting the business sector in the country.

Vice President Mutale Nalumango has called on local authorities in the country to pass by-laws which will introduce penalties for people who buy products on the streets.

ZAMBIA is in debt distress and urgently needs deep and comprehensive debt treatment and as a result, the World Bank has released US$100 million concessional credit its support for Macroeconomic Stability, Growth and Competitiveness Programme of the country.

A BUSINESSMAN in Solwezi, Mr Nathan Mulonga, has observed that government is not being sincere with the people of Zambia on increased electricity tariffs. Mr Mulonga said this was because the failure to properly manage the energy sector would have a long term negative effect on businesses and on the economy.
