Thieves sever police officer’s fingers.

A traffic constable from Livingstone Central Police was attacked on Saturday evening by criminals who struck him on the head and severed two of his fingers.

The attack occurred on Lusaka Road in the Highland area after his vehicle broke down. The assailants also stole his personal belongings.

Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, Auxensio Daka, identified the officer as Emmanuel Munembo, who had been test driving his Toyota Chaser (registration ACG 9149) with his girlfriend, Lorraine, from Dambwa Central, Livingstone.

Mr. Daka explained that the attack took place near Mulungushi University while Munembo was inspecting a mechanical issue with his car. Five individuals emerged from a nearby bush and assaulted both Munembo and his girlfriend with metal objects. The girlfriend managed to escape during the attack.
