Police in Lusaka have arrested businessman Ackson Tembo and formally charged him with obtaining money under false pretenses and theft.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga reports that Tembo, 42, is accused of fraudulently obtaining $62,000 from Pena Osembe Alumba between January and June 2017. Additionally, Tembo is charged with stealing Mukula logs worth over one million Kwacha, also belonging to Alumba.
In an exclusive interview with ZNBC News, Hamoonga confirmed that Tembo was arrested after a thorough investigation and has been formally charged. Tembo was released on police bond on September 13, 2024, and is expected to appear in court soon to face the charges.
