A deadly hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Church Road and Nasser Road in Lusaka happened on September 7, 2024, at around 19:40. Lusaka Division Traffic is looking into the incident.
A male pedestrian, identified as Evelyn Hone College resident student Chibwe Gershom, 22, was involved in this tragic accident. After suffering serious head injuries, he was taken to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH), where doctors declared him dead.
The identity of the driver of the car involved in this incident is still unknown. After the collision, the driver of the unidentified car continued to drive along Nasser Road from East to West without stopping.
According to preliminary investigations, the accident happened at the intersection of Church and Nasser Roads when the pedestrian, Chibwe Gershom, was crossing the street in the same direction (from East to West).
The deceased person’s body has been placed in the UTH mortuary while a post-mortem examination is conducted.
