President Hakainde Hichilema has pledged continued support to the Mwanawasa family following the passing of former First Lady Dr. Maureen Mwanawasa.
During his visit to the funeral house in Lusaka’s Roma Park, President Hichilema extended his condolences, highlighting Dr. Mwanawasa’s significant contributions to Zambia through her Maureen Mwanawasa Community Initiative.
He encouraged the family to stay united and find strength in their faith during this difficult time. The President also emphasized the importance of managing social media to prevent the spread of misinformation about the cause of Dr. Mwanawasa’s death. Dr. Mwanawasa passed away on August 13, 2024, and will be laid to rest at Leopards Hill Memorial Park.
