INDEPENDENT Churches of Zambia (ICOZ) president Bishop David Masupa has appealed to government to un

freeze second republican President Fredrick Chiluba’s assets because he was acquitted by the courts of law.

Bishop Masupa during the memorial service of Dr Chiluba said it was only right and fair for the government to honour

his family because he did a lot for the country. “Government should unfreeze Dr Chiluba’s property because he was acquitted by the courts of law so let those assets be returned to the family,” Bishop Masupa said.

Meanwhile former Vice President Enock Kavindele said late President Chiluba would be remembered for his contri

bution to multi-party democracy as well as declaring Zambia a Christian nation. Mr. Kavindele said Dr. Chiluba would also be remembered for his compassion.

Speaking during the memorial service for the second republican president, Mr. Kavin dele stated that there was need

to honor former presidents. Meanwhile, Declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation Chairperson Billy Mfula said it

is important t to adopt a culture of honouring former leaders. And, Dr. Chiluba’s Memorial Service Organizing Committee Chairperson, Yotam Muchimbawakumbwa said Dr. Chiluba exhibited good leadership at all levels he served from school up to presidency.
