We are delighted to hear of the positive strides the government is making with the Chinese government with initiatives related to the external debt, Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) has said.
ZACCI President Chabuka Kawesha said such strides by the government also encourage both the Zambian and Chinese business sector to effectively grow the cooperation to ensure that various opportunities are opened up across the economic sector.
Mr Kawesha said the business interactions between the Chinese and the Zambian business would also help private sector businesses in the country to excel even more.
And Mr Kawesha has expressed confidence that the Zambian and Chinese businesses would help to promote tourism for both countries as a result of linkages that they have both created.
“As ZACCI, we would like to see those platforms and many others that can be created to trigger the next phase of Zambia’s strive in promoting agro processing, the cold value chain, the growth for all SMEs across the country as well as the corporation between light manufacturers and heavy manufacturers in Zambia,” said Mr Kawesha.
Speaking in an interview at the gala dinner for the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Zambia (CCCZ) Mr Kawesha said ZACCI would also love to see ease of movements for the people of the two countries through the introduction of direct flights from different cities in china and those in Zambia which was very possible looking at the corporation that the two countries had built.
He said the cooperation that has been seen between the two countries has also encouraged Small and Medium Enterprise traders to go into joined venture opportunities because of increased linkages not only digitally but physically.
