Some Yango drivers in Lusaka have gone on strike due to poor working conditions.
The drivers said the company has been offering low fares and bonuses, as well as a lack of driver safety.
One of the drivers, Ganizani Lungu, said Yango is cutting trip compensation without the driver’s approval and that some drivers are not receiving trip reimbursement.
He claimed that Yango is paying drivers as little as K120 for 20 daily trips, instead of K730 which was agreed upon.
Mr Ganizani said this is being done without informing the drivers on the development.
And Charles Lungu has urged Yango to improve driver safety by upgrading its application.
And attempts to get a comment from Yango management proved futile as the company offices were locked.
