Chawama Law maker Tasila Lungu Mwansa has bemoaned increased criminal groupings in the area.
Ms Mwansa says the situation in the area is worrying, therefore, government needs to intervene.
She says if the matter is left unchecked many lives will be lost.
Ms Mwansa says the groups are terrorising people even during broad daylight.
She says there are reports that the criminal groups are stealing from women owning small businesses leaving them with nothing to feed their families.
She says it is prudent that the police intensify patrols in so that those involved are apprehended.
