I CAN DEFEAT HH, SAYS GBM  – I am here to bring unity of purpose for the PF to bounce back to power in 2026

By SILUMESI MALUMO

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Presidential hopeful Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba says the party needs a candidate who can defeat President Hakainde Hichilema in the 2026 elections by bringing unity, and feels he is capable of doing just that.

Mr Mwamba said he has a heart for the party that is why he wants to take over its presidency and bring unity to ensure it bounces back to power.

Mr. Mwamba, popularly known as GBM, said he decided to file his nomination so that he can stand a chance to be at the helm of the PF.

He said time has come to ensure that there is unity of purpose for the party to move in the right direction.

“Most people know my capabilities when it comes to giving support to the party whether materially, financially or morally. If you recall, I was always there for the party when we were in opposition during the MMD days and we made it possible to form government in 2011. So can I fail to do that now,” Mr Mwamba said.

He said as it stands right now, a candidate who can unseat President Hichilema from office needs to be tough and loved by the Zambians.

He said it will be possible to win 2026 general elections on the PF ticket because the UPND government has failed to govern the country.

Mr Mwamba said Zambians cannot afford to be governed by the party that has no heart for the poor.

He said the cost of living has increased which has made most vulnerable people fail to earn a living.

The candidates that have filed nominations for the PF Presidency include Brian Mundubile, Mutotwe Kafwaya, Miles Sampa, Greyford Moonde, Emmanuel Mwamba, Dr. Chitalu Chilufya and Chishimba Kambwili.
