Six arrested for murdering relative in Kabompo

Police in Kabompo have arrested six people in connection with the murder of a 65 year old woman identified as Agatha Fumbelo of Pokolo compound in Kabompo.

The six suspects are close relatives to the woman who prior to her killing was constantly accused of being witch.

North-Western province deputy commanding officer Robinson Moonga confirmed the development in a statement and identified the suspects as Danny Sachiyoya aged 25, Noah Sachiyoya junior aged 27, Noah Sachiyoya senior aged  58, Grace Ngala Mutu 68 of village Makayi Chief Sikufele, Boyd Kachelewa aged 68  and  Katangozhi Richard aged 58 all of Kabompo district. Mr Moonga said Ms Fumbelo had gone missing from June 5th but that the body was later discovered in a nearby bush in the same area.

He said after investigations, it was discovered that the six suspects were allegedly involved in the murder. He said investigations have continued as police are pursuing more suspects who are close relatives to the deceased.

The remains have since been buried in shallow grave for purposes of exhumation.
