Three Ndola kids bashed

THREE children and an adult were injured in a road traffic accident along Chilubi road in Ndola’s Kabushi area on Saturday.

The accident occurred at around 16:00 hours, involving a Nissan Registration Number ACV 7657 which was driven by 42-year-old Davies Chundu of Lubuto Ngwee in Ndola.

Copperbelt Commissioner of Police, Elias Chushi, the children who were hit are aged four, six and 10 years and were rushed to Arthur Davison Children Hospital where they were admitted.

He identified the other victim as Nissi Bwalya, 21, of house number 1814 Kabushi who sustained bruises on the back, mouth, and also suffered internal body injuries and is admitted to Ndola Teaching Hospital.

“Foster Kangwa, 4, of house number 698 Kabushi sustained bruises on both hands and legs and internal body injuries, Gloria Mundia,6, of house 1815 who sustained bruises on the face, fractured right leg and Aubrey Kinda ,10, of 1817 who  sustained bruises on both legs and hands, all of Kabushi area,” he said.

Mr Chushi said however that the driver of the vehicle escaped unhurt.

He said the accident happened when the motor vehicle was being driven from north to south direction and due to excessive speed the driver lost control and rammed into the four pedestrians who were standing off the road.
