KALOMO Town Council is intending to engage KFW, a Germany Company to work on some township roads in the district. Council Chairperson Koyi Makaya said the local authority was planning to partner with KFW to work on the 13.9 kilometres roads within the Central Business District.
KFW was previously engaged by the council to construct the Kalomo modern bus station Mr Makaya told the Daily Nation that so far discussions had been concluded and that only paper work was being worked on.
“We are making serious engagements with a German company, KFW to work on the road network within the CBD and we have concluded our engagements. “We want to do 13.9 km tarred roads in the CBD and more to that one; we would also want to have the full kit of the machinery,” Mr Makaya said.
He said that the local authority has spent about K 5 million on the rehabilitation of feeder roads such as the road from Nazibbula to Nkandazovu and the road from Maila Male to Kulya Mbeba. “In my tenure of office, we have done a lot of road networks such as Itezhi Tezhi, nazibbula-Nkandazovu, maila male to Kulya Mbeba through to Kasukwe roads,” he said.
