Lamba -Lima Council mourns Chief Mushili

The Lamba -Lima Royal Council of Chiefs has described the death of Senior Chief Mushili as a big blow to the council.

 Lamba Lima Royal Council of Chiefs, Senior Chief Chiwala said the late Senior Chief Mushili died on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at the University Teaching Hospital ( UTH) in Lusaka after succumbing to a stroke.

 Senior Chief Chiwala said the late Senior Chief was an anchor to the Lamba and Lima traditional leaders on the Copperbelt and that his demise is a big loss not only to the Lamba speaking people but the country as a whole.

 Senior Chiwala said the royal council of chiefs is disappointed with what he termed as “uncultured behavior” by the Lamba-Lima Culture Association for taking to social media to announce the demise of the chief without the blessing from the council of chiefs.

 ZANIS reports that Senior Chief Chiwala said burial arrangements for the late Senior Chief, Toily Jelly Lwebesha are being made and will be announced later.

 “We are disappointed by some social media reports that were circulated and the people that announced his death are those that have put themselves as association Lamba-Lima cultural associations without a blessing of the Lamba-Lima Royal Council of chiefs.

 Senior Chief Chiwala said the behavior exhibited by the association is uncalled for and that has no blessings from the council of chiefs in the province adding that they should not even be in a position to promote the so called Lamba-Lima cultural issues because they have failed the chiefs.

 Meanwhile, Chief Lumpuma of Lufwanyama district said the council is saddened by the death of Senior Chief Mushili.

 Chief Lumpuma described the late Chief as a pillar where many chiefs in the province rushed to for counsel and support.

 The late Senior Chief Mushili the sixth, ascended to the throne in 2007 and was recognised as chief on September 18 in the same year.  He is survived by seven children and ten of grandchildren.
