NYIMBA MAN HANGS HIMSELF

A 33 –year- old man of Kachembele village in Chief Ndake’s area of Nyimba has committed suicide.

Eastern Division Police Commissioner, Geza Lungu has confirmed that Masauso Mumba took his life around 17:00 hours on Sunday after he suddenly went missing from home.

“I want to confirm a case of suicide that occurred on January 24, 2021 around 17.00 hours at Kachembele Village in Chief Ndake of Nyimba District in which Chakulani Lungu 66 years reported that his nephew Masauso Mumba aged 33 years was found dead in the bush after hanging himself,” Mr Lungu said.

Mr Lungu said brief facts are that the deceased had complained of chest pains last Saturday around 22:00hrs, and he planned to visit a witchdoctor with his wife the following day.

“The following day on 24th January around 12 hours he told his wife Gladys Lungu aged 30 years of the same abode that they should go and seek treatment from a witch doctor. Whilst the wife was preparing, the deceased went missing from home and his relatives went searching for him until they found him dead,” he said.s

He stated that the body of the deceased was discovered by his brother in-law Shepherd Mumba about 400 metres from Kachembele village.

The Police Commissioner said his officers visited the scene of the crime and do not suspect foul play.

“Police visited the scene of the crime, inspection was conducted and no physical injuries were seen on the body and suspect no foul play,” he explained.

He said relatives to the deceased were advised to bury the body since there was no suspect in the matter.
