A-53-year man of Lusaka’s Kanyama Compound has been arrested for allegedly to defiling a two year old female juvenile.
Police spokesperson, Esther Katongo who confirmed the alleged defilement of a minor has identified the suspect as Jonathan Mwewa.
In a statement, Ms Katongo told the Sun that matter was reported at Kanyama Police by the father of the victim aged 38 of the same compound compound.
“The incident is alleged to have occurred on 15th January, 2021 at around 17:00 hours at Kanyama compound when the victim went to the house of the accused person who lives in the neighborhood,” she said.
Ms Katongo said the suspect was apprehended by members of the public and surrendered him to police.
She said the accused person is detained in police custody.
