Musician Lota Mandevu aka Drimz’ s song ‘Mwankole’ was last Saturday named the Radio Phoenix Local Rhythms Countdown song of the year for 2020.
The single which highlights a number of issues surrounding people in authority who depend on other people to make it life but forget about them once they are comfortable beat nine other finalists to earn the title.
Drimz finished first followed by Nez Long with ‘Keka’ at number two. Roberto featuring Chanda Na Kay finished third with ‘Fyonse’.
Macky2’s ‘Early Riser’ was fourth while his brother Chef 187 was at six with ‘ Grammy Muchibemba’ following Slapdee’s ‘ Savuka’ at number five.
Seven was Yo Maps ‘ Kumoba’ while Bombshell was on eighth with ‘ Fukunyuka’. Number nine is Slapdee again with ‘ Dzuwa’ while female dancehall group Davaos finished 10th with ‘ Nje Nje’.
