Lightning has killed a person in Isoka district in Muchinga province.
Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Joel Njase says lightning struck Ethel Nakanyika, 24 years of Chinyansi Village in Chief Kafwimbi’s area while she was planting maize in her field around 16:00 hours yesterday.
Commissioner Njase further explained that a visit to the scene by police, found the body with the face upwards and burnt body parts with the clothes torn.
The police said after being struck by lightning in the field Ethel Nakanyika died on the spot and police suspect no foul play.
Mr Njase disclosed that the body has been deposited in Isoka district Hospital mortuary. Ethel Nakanyika is survived by a husband and two children
