ZAMBIA Super League defending champions Nkana have sent head coach Manfred Chabinga on indefinite leave.

The 13-time record Champions took to social media to confirm the development but the details are cagey and the communiqué says details will be availed later
Nkana were on Saturday held to a goalless draw by Lesotho outfit Bantu FC in a CAF Champions League preliminary round encounter at Nkana Stadium, However thanks to a 1-0 away goal they go through on aggregate and will face Petro Athletico.
Chabinga led Nkana to their thirteenth title less than six months ago during the cut short 2019/2020 Super League season.
Meanwhile, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga and his executive committee have congratulated Nkana and Napsa Stars for qualifying to the next round of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.
Nkana qualified to round one of the CAF Champions League after edging out Bantu FC of Lesotho 1-0 over two legs while Napsa Stars eliminated Comoros side Ngazi FC via a 9-2 aggregate result.
Kamanga says his executive is elated by the progress of the two continental envoys with Forest Rangers falling out after a 2-0 away loss to Bouinguidi of Gabon.
“We are proud of their achievements and urge them to work even harder to go further in the competitions. The country has a duty to preserve the for slots in CAF competitions by good performances,”Kamanga said.
Napsa Stars continued where they left off in the Comoros Islands as they hammered Ngazi FC 4-1. A goal each from Emmanuel Mayuka, Daniel Adoko, Jacob Ngulube, and Chanda Mushili was enough to make a statement with a 9-2 aggregate win.
It was however a different story in Gabon, Forest Rangers were handed a 2-0 defeat by AS Bouenguidi to crash out of the Champions League in their first campaign.
The Gabonese side qualifies for the next round where they will face TP Mazembe. – ZAMFOOT
