LCC enlists Airtel money for payments

LUSAKA City Council (LCC) has concluded the registration and creation of a merchant account with Airtel Zambia.

This development means that LCC clients can now make payments for municipal services through the Airtel money service.

Clients wishing to pay for council services via Airtel money can use the following path dialing *778# Select option 4 `make payment’ select option 5 ‘Goods & Services’, select option ‘1 enter.

For merchant code, enter Business Name “LCC, enter amount, enter reference and enter PIN.

LCC Public Relations Manager George Sichimba said, on July, 21 2020, LCC announced the commencement of the electronic bill distribution to its clients via bulk short message service (SMS) following the conclusion of the partnership with Zamtel.

Mr Sichimba explained that the council was however doing everything possible to embrace e-government and serve its clients better.

“LCC is appealing to all its clients to take advantage of the Airtel mobile money service to pay for municipal services from their comfort zones,” Mr Sichimba said.
