THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Chirundu has arrested a Chiawa Local Court Magistrate and Clerk of Court for corrupt practices involving K2, 500.
According to ACC corporate affairs officer, Crystal Mwale the two public officers who are jointly with one count of Corrupt Practices received K2, 500 cash gratification, as an inducement or reward to reduce the compensation payable in a divorce case at Chiawa Local Court.
In a statement, Mr Mwale identified the accused as Jackline Chiposhiaged 47 and Tryson Lishosho, aged 56 both residents of Kafue Local Court Grounds.
“Jackline Chiposhi aged 47 and Tryson Lishosho, aged 56 both residents of Kafue Local Court Grounds, are jointly charged with one count of Corrupt Practices by Public Officer Contrary to Section 19 (1) as read with Section 41 of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.
“Particulars being that on dates unknown but between 1st November 2018 and 30th December 2018, in Kafue District, Lusaka Province, Jackline Chiposhi and Tryson Lishosho being Public Officers jointly and whilst acting together, did corruptly solicit for ZMK2, 500 cash gratification, as an inducement or reward to reduce the compensation payable in a divorce case at Chiawa Local Court,” Mr Mwale said.
He said Chiposhi was further charged with one count of the offence of Corrupt Practices by a public officer, contrary to Section 19 (1) as read with Section 41 of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012.
Mr Mwale narrated that on 3rd December 2018, in Kafue District, Lusaka Province, Magistrate Chiposhi being a Public Officer, corruptly received K2, 500 cash gratification, as an inducement or reward to reduce the compensation payable in a divorce case at Chiawa Local Court.
He said the duo had since been released on bond and would appear in court soon.
