LUSAKA City Council (LCC) has named the road adjacent to Football House in Lusaka’s mass media area as Danny Pule Road.
According to LCC public relations officer Emmanuel Lupikisha, the road has been named in honor of Dumanis Ministries founder Dr Danny Pule.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony in Lusaka, Lusaka deputy mayor, Christopher Shakafuswa said the Council decided to honor Dr Pule for his contributions to religious and political development of the city, and the country at large.
Mr Shakafuswa said the council had adopted a policy of naming roads after residents of Lusaka who have contributed to the development of the city.
“It is in the first ordinary Council meeting held on 26th May, 2020 where Council resolved to name roads after the Zambian First Lady Esther Lungu along with all former First Ladies, the former Mayor His Worship the late Wilson Kalumba and the late Regina Mwanza in her capacity as a public figure,” he said.
“The council also considers personalized naming of roads from residents of Lusaka as long as the names are in good faith, he added.
Mr Shakafuswa therefore called on residents who felt that they have any contributions on who should be honored in this same manner to follow Council procedure by submitting these profiles to LCC for consideration.
And speaking at the same event, Dr Pule expressed gratitude to the mayor of Lusaka for honoring him by naming a road after him.
