A 28-year-old man of Kyawama compound in Solwezi has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl of the same compound.
The incident happened on Sunday around 16:00 hours.
North-western province Commissioner of police, Elias Chushi, confirmed the indient and identified the suspect as Daniel Mulenga.
He said Mulenga allegedly enticed the girl to his house where he had sex with her.
“However, the victim’s parents got wind of the information and made a follow up and caught the two, pants down having sex,” he explained.
Mr Chushi said the victim sustained bruises in her private part and was referred to Solwezi General Hospital for treatment.
“And the suspect is in police custody and will soon appear in court soon,” he said.
