IN what is suspected to be a case of suicide over marital issues, a 44-year-old woman of Kabangwe area has been found dead in her bedroom.
The woman is alleged to have killed herself after her husband left her for another woman. A claim that has been denied by her immediate family.
Martha Kaite was found in a pool of blood after suspected gunshots were heard in the early hours of Saturday by the housemaid.
Sister to the victim, Martha Muzeya said that it is not yet known whether she took her own life because no one heard the gunshots.
She said that contrary to what people were saying that she took her life, it was not yet known until the police conclude investigations after a postmortem is conducted.
Ms Muzeya said that her sister had a lot of issues bordering on her marital affairs but that police are yet to establish the cause of her death.
She said that at the time of her death, her husband was not home.
“A lot of things have been said about her death, yes it’s true my sister had a lot of issues but we don’t know whether she killed herself.
“We would like to advise people to let us mourn our beloved in peace. We are saddened with stories circulating others accusing her of being a Satanist, my sister was not a Satanist, of course she had issues bordering on material issues but we are yet to know what happened otherwise whatever is being said is false,” she said.
But according to a source, Ms Kaita took her life after her husband left her for another woman.
