MADAGASCAR has pulled out of a planned friendly with South Africa which was scheduled for this Saturday at the Orlando stadium in South Africa.

Madagascar were confirmed as Bafana’s opponents for Saturday match after Zambia pulled out due prevailing security situation in South Africa.

The South African Football Association (SAF) confirmed in a statement that the game had been cancelled following the decision by  Madagascar to pull out.

“SAFA regrets to inform the public that the match between Bafana Bafana and Madagascar scheduled for this coming Saturday has been called off after the visitors decided to withdraw from the encounter,” read the statement from SAFA .

On Tuesday Zambia pulled out of a planned friendly with Bafana which was to be played at the Heroes stadium on Saturday citing Xenophobic attacks recently going on in South Africa.

SAFA has since asked all its Bafana players who had been in camp to return to their respective bases following the cancelation of its friendly games.

There were whispered calls in Zambia for FAZ to call off the game after the local football governing body indicated it would go ahead with the planned friendly.

Chipolopolo will instead face Namibia in an international friendly to be played at the Sam Nujoma stadium in Windhoek, Namibia on November 7.
