A GARDEN BOY of Lusaka’s Kalikiliki compound has been fined K500 for insulting neighbor.

This is a case in which Nelly Nbente, 28 of Kalikiliki sued Moffat Kalenga, 32 for calling her a witch.

Nbente told Chelstone Local Court presiding magistrate Kennedy Mwansa Mutale sitting with presiding magistrate Mary Namangala that Kalenga insulted her for no apparent reasons and wanted him to tell her what wrong she did.

“It was on August 21 when my friend came to ask for water at my place to bath the baby but while I was giving her the water I just heard him calling me a witch and insulting me,” she said.

“He said my house is like the famous St Mary’s Secondary school because I only have female children. And he told me that I should go anywhere to report and nothing will happen because he is a billionaire who stinks of money,” she said.

She told court she wanted him to tell her why he insulted her because it was not the first time he had done so.

In defence Kalenga denied the allegation by claiming that in fact it was her who insulted him.

And Nbente’s husband said the cause of the insults was because Kalenga used to tell his wife that he would give her money if he slept with her.

“My wife used to tell me everything he was telling her hence this bitterness, he has been insulting her since then,” he said.

The court found Kalenga guilty and ordered him to compensate Nbente with K500 so as to discipline him for being the first offender.
