THE Boma Local Court in Lusaka has failed to reconcile a couple of Zani Muone that has been married for 12 years and advised the two to sue for divorce.

This was a case in which Miriam Banda, 37, sued her husband Robert Mwanza, 34 seeking reconciliation.

Banda told senior local court magistrate Gastone Kalala that she wanted reconciliation with her husband despite having neglected her.

“He initially had nothing and used her money for his business. Immediately it boomed, problems started in our marriage,

“He said we would build a house on his plot. We worked together and built the house but his other wife moved into it,” she said.

She talked to her husband and hoped that things would change somehow but all was in vain.

“He lost business and again I helped him pick it up. Little did I know he used to build in secret and I only found out later when I saw it on Facebook,” she said.

She said apart from that, her husband often came home late and stopped providing for the home.

In defence Mwanza said problems in their marriage started because his first wife had a plot and his second wife knew about it.

The court found that Mwanza neglected and lost love for his wife. Reconciliation failed and Magistrate Kalala advised them to sue for divorce.
